Mountain biking
Fancy some downhill riding? At the Maiskogel you can take your bike up the mountain with the gondola and then enjoy the ride downhill. Likewise, a bike park with drops, kickers and pump track is waiting for you to let off steam! On the Kitzsteinhorn you will find three new mountain bike “freeride trails” with a total length of 16km. Mountain bikes are transported to the Alpine Center at 2,450 m at no extra charge. The sections are the Geissstein Trail, Wüstlau Trail and Bachler Trail.
- The high alpine Geißstein trail is 3,144 m long and leads over 500 meters in altitude from the Alpincenter to Häuslalm. In addition to a breathtaking panorama, the Geißstein trail offers above all speed, some berms and numerous smaller jumps.
- The Wüstlau Trail is an extra-long trail with a length of 7,700 m and an altitude difference of 1070 m, which leads from the Häuslalm over alpine pastures and forest to the valley. The partly technically very demanding trail is peppered with hairpin turns, bends and some stone and root passages.
- Almost natural and relatively easy to ride is the Bachler Trail, which is 5,200 m long and overcomes 600 meters in altitude. Here, especially beginners get their money’s worth. Since the Bachlersteig can only be reached via a short climb and ends at the Klammsee, an uphill capable bike is recommended here.
